Item 10
Read the speech.
“Ich bin ein Berliner”
by John F. Kennedy
Schöneberger Rathaus, West Berlin, July 1963
Two thousand years ago, two thousand years ago, the proudest boast was "civis Romanus sum." Today, in the world of freedom, the proudest boast is "Ich bin ein Berliner." (I appreciate my interpreter translating my German.)
There are many people in the world who really don't understand, or say they don't, what is the great issue between the free world and the Communist world.
Let them come to Berlin.
There are some who say that communism is the wave of the future.
Let them come to Berlin.
And there are some who say, in Europe and elsewhere, we can work with the Communists.
Let them come to Berlin.
And there are even a few who say that it is true that communism is an evil system, but it permits us to make economic progress.
Lass' sie nach Berlin kommen. Let them come to Berlin.
Freedom has many difficulties and democracy is not perfect. But we have never had to put a wall up to keep our people in—to prevent them from leaving us….While the wall is the most obvious and vivid demonstration of the failures of the Communist system—for all the world to see—we take no satisfaction in it; for it is, as your Mayor has said, an offense not only against history but an offense against humanity, separating families, dividing husbands and wives and brothers and sisters, and dividing a people who wish to be joined together.
What is true of this city is true of Germany: real, lasting peace in Europe can never be assured as long as one German out of four is denied the elementary right of free men, and that is to make a free choice. In 18 years of peace and good faith, this generation of Germans has earned the right to be free, including the right to unite their families and their nation in lasting peace, with good will to all people….
Freedom is indivisible, and when one man is enslaved, all are not free. When all are free, then we can look forward to that day when this city will be joined as one and this country and this great Continent of Europe in a peaceful and hopeful globe. When that day finally comes, as it will, the people of West Berlin can take sober satisfaction in the fact that they were in the front lines for almost two decades.
All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin.
And, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words "Ich bin ein Berliner."
What is Kennedy’s purpose in including references to the division of families in his speech?
to appeal to his audience’s logic
to make an emotional appeal to his audience
to show his audience where communism has succeeded
to boost morale and confidence among his audience
Answer:
D: To boost morale and confidence among his audience.
There you go
‘The Death of a Soldier’
Life contracts and death is expected,
As in a season of autumn.
The soldier falls.
He does not become a three-days’ personage,
Imposing his separation,
Calling for pomp.
Death is absolute and without memorial,
As in a season of autumn,
When the wind stops.
When the wind stops and, over the heavens,
The clouds go, nevertheless,
In their direction.
- Wallace Stevens
3. PART A: In the context of line 6. what does the word
"pomp" mean? A. showing respect
B. more time
C. quiet acknowledgment
D. splendid display.
4. PART B: which quote from the text best summarizes the answer to part A. A. “Imposing his separation (line 5). B. “without memorial” (line 7). C. “When the wind stop” ( line 9). D. “the clouds go, nevertheless” (line 11)
Answer: The answers are D. Splendid Display and B. Without Memorial
Explanation: Hope it helps
Splendid display is the does the word "pomp" mean. “without memorial” is the quote from the text best summarizes the answer to part. Hence, option D and B are correct.
What is the theme of the death of a soldier poem? The poem examines the futility and suffering of one of history's worst battles. The speaker says that when a soldier is slain, "Life contracts and death is expected, like the leaves in fall". The final, end-stopped line of the first verse is the only one that is a full sentence.
"Death is absolute and without memorial," which appears to be saying that the end is the end and that's that, marks a philosophical change in the poem. According to the reasoning, death is not a life event, contrary to what Wittgenstein claimed. It is useless for humans to attempt to memorialize the event.
Thus, option D and B are correct.

6x - 4z
Answer:
Simplifying
(6x + -4z)(6x + 4z) = 0
Multiply (6x + -4z) * (6x + 4z)
(6x * (6x + 4z) + -4z * (6x + 4z)) = 0
((6x * 6x + 4z * 6x) + -4z * (6x + 4z)) = 0
Reorder the terms:
((24xz + 36x2) + -4z * (6x + 4z)) = 0
((24xz + 36x2) + -4z * (6x + 4z)) = 0
(24xz + 36x2 + (6x * -4z + 4z * -4z)) = 0
(24xz + 36x2 + (-24xz + -16z2)) = 0
Reorder the terms:
(24xz + -24xz + 36x2 + -16z2) = 0
Combine like terms: 24xz + -24xz = 0
(0 + 36x2 + -16z2) = 0
(36x2 + -16z2) = 0
Solving
36x2 + -16z2 = 0
Solving for variable 'x'.
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '16z2' to each side of the equation.
36x2 + -16z2 + 16z2 = 0 + 16z2
Combine like terms: -16z2 + 16z2 = 0
36x2 + 0 = 0 + 16z2
36x2 = 0 + 16z2
Remove the zero:
36x2 = 16z2
Divide each side by '36'.
x2 = 0.4444444444z2
Simplifying
x2 = 0.4444444444z2
Take the square root of each side:
x = {-0.666666667z, 0.666666667z}
Explanation: You don't need to explain with words, by doing this work you explained how to simplify and how you can do it in many ways to get the exact answer.

Explanation:
25 points! Brainliest to the first honest opinion! I'm writing a novel and I need to get someones honest opinion on if it's a good start.
Let me tell you a story, starting from the beginning.
"No no no no no no no!" Winter raced through he woods trying to find a safe place to hide.
There was no place to hide. She was alone.
She couldn't turn back, because behind her was a killer. A killer who had slaughtered her entire family, and is now after her. She is scared, hurt and desperately trying to get away. Not only had the killer murdered her family, the killer was a demon, a demon who was once her lover.
He promised her love, love beyond anything that her world can offer. But as time passed, she realized how much of a monster he was. His true sadistic nature revealed itself, and she broke up with him. He would not take that. He loved her, and he was insane, so he promised her he would be back, and he would destroy everyone she ever loved. He was going to give her a fate worse than death, by sending her somewhere she could never escape, somewhere that is completely inhuman. He was sending her to a practical hell, and she had no idea as to where or what it was.
So there I was, running for my life from the man who trapped me and promised me eternal suffering. I know i'm not going to escape but I have to try. I just have to. There's no way I can face what he has in mind, not after all he's done to me in the past. I can only imagine the horrors he had in store for me in this hell he plans to send me to.
I stop and hide in a hollowed out tree. I know i'm probably not safe there, but I just sit there and wait. I'm only human, so you can't blame me for wanting to feel safe in an enclosed space, and I can only run for so long.
"Winter~ Come on out my snowflake, I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to see you" I could hear his voice echoing, his voice alone sent shivers through me. He sounds like a psychopath, let me rephrase that, he is a psycho.
"WINTER! I know you're hiding, i can't hear your footsteps anymore." He was close "Come. out. now." My hear rate increased ten times over as I heard him come closer and closer. Then i saw him, he was right in front of me, i didn't know if he could see me, but i assumed he did considering how he yanked me out by my arm.
He held my arms tight and just smiled at me. I stared in his eyes, mine full of fear. I couldn't move, there was nothing I could do. so he dragged me back to my house, the same house that he turned to a slaughterhouse for my family.
