How did the Romantics challenge the age of reason?

Answers

Answer 1

In this way, the Romantic movement contested the notion that the human intellect was inert.

How could the Romantics fight the enlightenment?

People were encouraged to follow their own objectives rather than rules and conventions that were imposed from without, and the importance of the individual was emphasized.

While opposing the rationalism or order attributed to the earlier Enlightenment era, the Romantics emphasized the importance of expressing true human emotions. The sensationalist psychology had a significant subjectivism that affected many writers. Because of this, the assertion for personal identity and an awareness of each person's individuality are recurring themes in literature from the second quarter of eighteenth and the initial third of a nineteenth centuries.

This theme regularly takes the kind of a confessional, where the author (or the person writing it) seeks to present a clear understanding of the character's innermost feelings and ideas.

composition about THE DAY I CAN NEVER FORGET

The day was very bright when we decided to play a football match with a nearby football team in our neighborhood. We called the best players among ourselves leaving Kelvin behind. In fact, this guy isn’t good using his foot for things like this, I mean he’s very weak when it comes to playing football but he came along to support us.
We played about ten(10) minutes and they scored us so we decided to break for half time not knowing our best striker whom we believed won’t play again. There was no substitute to fix him and confidently, Kelvin said he can play. We all burst into laughter, we even thought that it was a dream but we had no choice but to replace him since there was no one.
Within three minutes of play, we had scored two goals of which kelvin scored it all. He could dribble from the center to the opponents half and place the ball at a very unexpected position to score a goal. On the thirty-fifth minutes, our opponents gave up for they were tired and the game results in 6:3 in favor us.
We felt ashamed underrating the guy and all he could tell us was that “we should sometimes hide the good things in us in order to know true friends who believe in our effortless caliber”. We were all mute as I told them that “THIS IS A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET”

What were writers in the Romantic Period interested in?

Answers

The writers in the Romantic Period interested were in idealism, individualism, and supernatural things.

Romantic idealism refers to the movement that placed a high value on generalities related to romanticism, similar as feelings and individualism. As an illustration, a playwright might produce a play where the heroine, frequently idealized to be perfect, is cursed to an arranged and loveless marriage.

With the supernatural, the dreamers took for granted the compendiums ' “ faith ” or disposition to believe in the situations they proposed. Through their literature, they offered the anthology the possibility to witness new worlds, which they could hardly see in real life.

What happens in the first stanza of I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud?

Answers

The speaker claims to have come across a daffodil field next to a lake while meandering like such a cloud floating over hills and valleys.

What happens in the first stanza of I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud?

The speaker claims that as he wandered around, he felt more lonely as a cloud. He uses the word "wandered" rather than "walked around," which is far more expressive. Wandering is the act of going about aimlessly, like when you are exploring.

Consequently, it is not always a bad thing. The daffodils were happier than the water, despite the lake's waves dancing alongside the dancing, fluttering blooms for miles down the beach. The first concept we want to look at is the notion of the cloud being "alone."

If we make assumptions about the poetry's meaning, we can comprehend it better. They might be alone if they stay near hills and valleys. Without a doubt, the speaker is projecting his inner loneliness onto to the circumstance.

Answers

It is not uncommon for people to have dreams that feel realistic and have elements that are disturbing or unsettling. Dreams can sometimes reflect our unconscious mind, and may be influenced by our thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

What is the dreams about?

The city and the chase scene in your dream may represent your daily life and the challenges you face in your waking world. The coroner may symbolize a place of safety or protection, while the person who grabbed you and injected you with a needle could represent a fear or threat in your life. The lady in the red dress who appeared after you woke up could be a manifestation of your unconscious mind or a symbol of something that is unsettling or unknown to you.

It is also possible that the dream may have been influenced by your physical position while sleeping and the absence of a wall in your bedroom. These elements may have contributed to the feeling of realism and the sense that something was off or different in your dream.

In all, it is important to remember that dreams are subjective and personal, and their interpretation can vary from person to person. It may be helpful to consider what the different elements in your dream might represent to you and how they may be connected to your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Answers

Answer:

[tex]y=\frac{4}{7} x-\frac{2}{7}[/tex]

Explanation:

The equation of a straight line is given by:

y = mx + b;

where y, x are variables, m is the slope of the line and b is the y intercept.

If two lines are parallel to each other, then they have the same slope, i.e. their slopes are equal.

The equation of a line passing through the point (-3, -2) and parallel to the line y = (4/7)x - 3, would have the same slope as the line y = (4/7)x - 3

The slope (m) of the line y = (4/7)x - 3 is 4/7, hence the line passes through the point (-3, -2) with a slope of 4/7.

The equation of the line is given by:

[tex]y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\y-(-2)=\frac{4}{7}(x-(-3)) \\\\y + 2=\frac{4}{7} (x+3)\\\\y=\frac{4}{7}x+\frac{12}{7}-2\\\\y=\frac{4}{7} x-\frac{2}{7}[/tex]

I had been fording streams more and more difficult to cross and wading bogs and swamps that seemed more and more extensive and more difficult to force one's way through. Entering one of these great tamarac and arbor-vitae swamps one morning, holding a general though very crooked course by compass, struggling through tangled drooping branches and over and under broad heaps of fallen trees, I began to fear that I would not be able to reach dry ground before dark, and therefore would have to pass the night in the swamp and began, faint and hungry, to plan a nest of branches on one of the largest trees or windfalls like a monkey's nest, or eagle's, or Indian's in the flooded forests of the Orinoco described by Humboldt.[3] But when the sun was getting low and everything seemed most bewildering and discouraging, I found beautiful Calypso on the mossy bank of a stream, growing not in the ground but on a bed of yellow mosses in which its small white bulb had found a soft nest and from which its one leaf and one flower sprung. The flower was white and made the impression of the utmost simple purity like a snowflower. No other bloom was near it, for the bog a short distance below the surface was still frozen, and the water was ice cold. It seemed the most spiritual of all the flower people I had ever met. I sat down beside it and fairly cried for joy.[4] It seems wonderful that so frail and lovely a plant has such power over human hearts. This Calypso meeting happened some forty-five years ago, and it was more memorable and impressive than any of my meetings with human beings excepting, perhaps, Emerson and one or two others. When I was leaving the University, Professor J.D. Butler said, "John, I would like to know what becomes of you, and I wish you would write me, say once a year, so I may keep you in sight." I wrote to the Professor, telling him about this meeting with Calypso, and he sent the letter to an Eastern newspaper [The Boston Recorder] with some comments of his own. These, as far as I know, were the first of my words that appeared in print.[5] How long I sat beside Calypso I don't know. Hunger and weariness vanished, and only after the sun was low in the west I splashed on through the swamp, strong and exhilarated as if never more to feel any mortal care. At length I saw maple woods on a hill and found a log house. I was gladly received. "Where ha ye come fra? The swamp, that awfu' swamp. What were ye doin' there?" etc. "Mony a puir body has been lost in that muckle, cauld, dreary bog and never been found." When I told her I had entered it in search of plants and had been in it all day, she wondered how plants could draw me to these awful places, and said, "It's god's mercy ye ever got out."[6] Oftentimes I had to sleep without blankets, and sometimes without supper, but usually I had no great difficulty in finding a loaf of bread here and there at the houses of the farmer settlers in the widely scattered clearings.
